Autonomous Trashcan Keeper
Recently, an uninvited guest breaks into the yard and goes through the trashcan frequently, especially at midnight. I know that he tries to contribute somehow for more efficient resource recycling but it definitely frightens me and scary! (My room is almost adjacent to trashcans.) So, I’m planning to make a device to alarm/frighten him not to visit my house again hopefully.
My idea is like this:
As robbing recyclable things makes noises almost always, the array of microphones detects the sound level and the spatial position of the sound source. Arduino calculates spatial position, turn on the light and control it to follow the sound source. I hope it makes him to feel someone is watching him! If this is not enough, I can display text messages such as ‘Get out of here!’ or some scary images.
Playing sound files must be effective but it should be loud enough to frighten the unwelcome guest and small enough not to wake me up.

Input Device: Microphone Array
Arduino: Detect and calculate spatial position of the sound source
Turn on/off the light and manipulate it(tilting and panning)
Output Device: Light, Sound, Visual display and so on…
