Please join us for discussion with Joseph Garlington who leads the Creative Interactive Attractions group at Walt Disney Imagineering.
The topic of his talk and discussion will focus on “Big Games for Big Places.” As he notes: his job is to find ideas, pull together teams to develop and deliver the ideas, and then manage the process that goes from blue sky thinking through warranty compliance. He is interested in discussing how to deal with missteps and mistakes in a development and production environment, because although never pleasant, they are instructive and can be the key to making a good product.
Joe Garlington, currently Vice President of Interactive Projects at Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI), worked at WDI in the 1980s, only to leave a few years later to start his own design and production company. He returned in 1990 and has since racked up numerous theme park credits including Turtle Talk with Crush, the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor and Toy Story Mania, all of which require real time human interaction with a virtual world.
