Over the course of the past month and a half, I kept a wakefulness rhythm journal.
Above is an hour by hour plot of my average productivity rating. Over the winter break i developed the habit of take 4pm naps, and it is evident here that I have not been consistent with the habit, otherwise the hours between 4pm and 5m would be dead zero.
I have to wonder if this cycle was factored, or if it is inherent in my biological system. I do remember though, that i was much happier when I was able to take a nap in the day, going through two active periods divided the work up, and time felt more managable and I felt more productive.
In the camel graph I’ve charted, I peak at 2pm and 8pm, both occurring an hour or two after my meal times.
And this is rating by day. A common trend in the past month has been peaks on Thursdays, likely due to my schedule, but not helped by the fact that I also have a full day of classes on Friday.
And below are the data. A lot of numbers, a big mess. The data was inputted on whim into the colorful spreadsheet below. Halfway through the project I decided to include an “e” rating for entertainment, thus removing time spent on entertainment from calculations.
