Akea

BACK

AKEA provides your Sims with an inexpensive alternative shopping experience.

•  Step 1 = The Sim orders the AKEA object online via his/her computer. This was accomplished using existing Sims-2 models including computer, box, chair, pile of trash, etc. Once ordered from the computer an instance of the "box" object appeared in a nearby open (9-square) space.

•  Step 2 = The Sim assembles the AKEA object. Animation components for the AKEA assembly were taken from the fight (dust cloud) and toilet plunger (action). The Sims' mechanical skill level affects the outcome of the product's construction. There are three different outcomes: you may get a pile of rubble, a cheap furniture item, or an expensive furniture item.

Step 3 = The Sim may sell or use the AKEA object. Once constructed, the object has a value based on a variable multiplier. Ideally, the Sim would have a high skill level, construct an average or high value product, and have the potential to sell it for a profit.
