Father Knows Best

BACK

Next time your dad tells you not to sit too close to the TV – listen to him.

•  The TV object checks two things in a sim interacting with it, age and fun level.

•  If a sim younger than an adult decides to watch TV, and has fun level lower than a certain value, they will be drawn to sit too close. This will force the sim to sit in the first few squares free in front of the television.

•  By disobeying the old saying, "don't sit so close to the TV," the sim will gain fun faster than normally watching the television but with consequences. The television will keep track of how much fun the sim has accumulated while sitting too close.

•  If the sim is left alone for too long while sitting too close warning signs start to appear.

•  First the sim will start to glow. A glow effect is started on the sim.

•  Second the sim will start to shake. The animation of the coffee jitters is applied to the sim.

•  The last warning sign is the sim will start to smoke.

•  The final consequence is the sim will catch on fire and possibly will catch other people and objects around him/her on fire as well.

•  If a user notices the warning signs before the sim catches on fire the television is reset. The glow effect and smoke will disappear. The jitters will remain for a time afterwards.

•  Adults and Old People are not be enticed by the television's wiles.
