Objects and Movies Through the first half of this semester students worked in teams to design, code, and test lots of original Sims 2 Objects. All Objects are coded using the Edith programming environment. Recently the students created short movies that illustrate some of their Objects in action. It's important to stress that making a movie in the Sims is more akin to documentary making than theatrical filmmaking. This is because the students do not have direct control over the characters. Rather each character is driven by its own needs and wants and, in effect, has a mind of their own. The students do, however, have precise control over the camera and can use camera placement and editing for dramatic effect.
