Fire photoblog
nice images. More personal than those seen on the news. It's amazing how much this stuff seems to be catching on...at least for certain major events (ok, this, and the Strike moblog. Both are run by textforamerica, although I thought I saw a link to one on buzznet site. No specific link for that one, though.

I've been watching the fires online, mainly through incidentControl.com. and sbcounty.gov. My family has a cabin in Blue Jay, so I've been paying close attention to the Old Fire in San Bernardino. It's going to a be long week...
The photoblogs seem to be on the other edge of the published news, and at this point in time, much more relevant. This is one of those events that changes by the minute, and widespread enough that even the scope of radio is limiting. At this point in time I'm more interested in blogs and message boards, all while waiting for the next official announcement. Any official news is usually too late and too general for what I'm looking for.

Also points out how useful a GPS position stamp on the images woud be for this kind of situation. Knowing where the images were taken and the ability to link to a map is pretty critical.
