LA County Deletes 'master-slave' PC Term
Los Angeles County officials have gone PC (politically correct) on PCs (personal computers) -- banning as potentially "offensive or defamatory" the words master and slave from computer hard drives and video equipment where they are used to describe primary and secondary circuits.

Those two terms hold no meaning (for me) other than a reference to technology. When I hear master or slave mentioned in any context, I immediatley think computer hard drives. The last thing on my mind is colonial New England and the pre-civil war era. What do they call them now, dominate and passive? Or 1st and 2nd? This is befuddling. How are massive drive arrays handled and devices that need a distinction in a daisy chain method?
