'04 open house
so,
a) the lab is done (for all intents and purposes)
b) we have some projects
c) we have an entire month before next semester, a time we can use to make more stuff
we need to have an open house early next semester -- get ourselves on the map, have some fun in our new space, etc.
I challenge everyone to get something done over the break, be it finishing up an existing project or prototype, getting their servo motors running like a charm, polishing off a performance piece, or programming some stupid / fun toy or game. Something. The lab is open, and if you're not here, well...most of you have laptops anyway, so no excuses. Let's get some stuff together and show it off.

We have some SONY execs coming on the 9th. Thinking about having and official open house then for CNTV and other invited guests from ICT, IMSC, etc.

Should we all be back by the 9th then? Classes don't start until that Monday, and I know some people weren't intending to come back until that weekend.

Oops, forgot about that - well, if anyone happens to be around and wants to show stuff that would be great. Maybe we'll wait on the interdepartmental openhouse.

when is the departmental open house, by the way?

We could probably set up some primitive version of the project that we'll be collaborating on with CalArts - the tracking stuff is already working quite nicely, and it would help get the project off the ground right away (since it will probably take a bit of time to get properly set up in the new immersive lab).
I'll be at ZML tomorrow afternoon, probably around one or so, if anyone wants to drop by.

Now it looks like we will have to shoot for later in January to do a formal openhouse (I am away the week of the 18th) but would still like to show whatever we can for our SONY visitors on the 9th and again on the 12th.

How about some of the 499 projects?? Some of you could get your project into shape for demonstration by then.
