Magic cube conjures virtual reality kid's tales
A novel interactive way to relate children's stories has been developed by researchers in Singapore. The Magic Story Cube uses augmented reality technology, in which computer graphics are superimposed on the real world, to overlay an animated version of a story on top of a child's traditional "magic cube".

I like the idea of a tangible "Jacob's ladder" cube as the device that allows people to navigate and "discover" the story. I still wish that a headset wasn't necessary, as that just adds to the clunkyness and would take me out of the environment. Since it's for kids, I would be interested to see the extent of the head mounted unit, how big it is and how cumbersome it might be. Probably works as children, I think, are more likely to forget the headmount and concentrate on the cube.
