http://rucingular.com/screeningroom/default.asp
15 seconds or less.
prize: motorola V551 + $5,000.
some rules:
- Contest starts at 12:00:01 a.m. ET on November 15, 2004 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on January 31, 2005.
- The videos can be about anything and fit within any genre, such as action or comedy and will be judged based on creativity, expression and entertainment value.
- You may enter as many times as you wish during the entry period, but only one entry per person can be selected as a winner. (See details in Rule 4 below.)
- Entries will be disqualified if they contain any inappropriate material or language, including profanity.
And for the most awesomist, craptastic rules of them all!
- Open to legal U.S. residents between 18 and 24 years of age who are film students at time of entry.
- All videos submitted, and all concepts or ideas contained or embodied therein, become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned
that aside, yeah, if someone here isn't entering this, umm, yeeah....someone should enter (even though many of us have exited the coveted 18-24 demographic! damn it!)

Wow... what a crap contest. Not only do you have to be a film student and between 18-24, but you also have to own a Cingular video phone.
Yet, if I had one, I'd probably enter a couple little 15 second thingers.

damn it. I suspected that that was a rule, but didn't find the rule in my reading...ehh, screw 'em for effectively shutting out most of the talent from a world renounded grad film program for the sake of self promotion.

Yea, its a little ambiguously worded.
In the Conditions of Entry from the rules, it says: "All videos submitted must be the original creation of the entrant by following instructions supplied by the Sponsor at the Contest website."
And then if you go to the 15 Seconds of Fame page to figure out those instructions, it says: "Once you've worked out the concept, grab a new Cingular Wireless video phone and start capturing your footage."
I love the wording. Oh sure! I'll just go GRAB a new Cingular Wireless video phone and start capturing! NO PROBLEM. Seems like I can't go anywhere these days without a Cingular Wireless video phone falling down from the sky like so much mana from heaven! AWESOME.

Wait. You don't know about the Cingular Wireless video phone tree? It was planted in the Mary Pickford Courtyard outside of Lucas. However, you are required to purchase a $300 insurance policy, first.
