Preliminary Thesis Show Diagrams

THESIS SHOW A.jpg

Above is a diagram of the “2006 IMD Thesis Show” based on the student program requests discussed in CTIN-555a on 10/20/05. This schematic is to scale and shows how a 2-stage configuration may be configured. Below is a 1-stage (plus annex) configuration, reflecting some modifications to square footage requests. Please note that these diagrams are preliminary, intended for discussion, and do not reflect final decisions.

Everyone should sketch a (digital) diagram that shows the potential layout of his/her thesis show space (I will show you how to do this if you need help). Please use the color scheme, and approximate font sizes, in the example below. Email and/or post a Photoshop file (with the fonts as a separate layer) and I'll insert it into the next layout.

Thanks man, looks good.
In Diagram A, what about swapping Kellee and Ashley?

We should go into the space as a group at some point soon to look at the details of the space. I'm most concerned about where the lighting grid extends to, and what/how we plan to hang anything from it.

Thanks Brad. FYI - Ashley requested a 20’x20’ space with additional area for “tilting walls” (see spreadsheet). This would not fit anywhere in diagram A’s Studio “D” without taking over most of the space. It seems logical to put Ashley’s thesis, as conceived, near the green screen, where tilting walls are less of an adjacency issue. However, I understand your concern about Kellee’s “Big Bang” sound; this will be an issue for anyone near her project (again, as conceived). Please know that Kellee is looking into the use of the Studio “E” control room (scheme “B”). In addition, all the 15”x15” requested spaces are swappable and will undoubtedly be part of our future discussions. Needs will change as people layout their individual spaces (our next step in the planning process).

I also just want to note here that since my audio is independent of the interactivity, I could have the audience members use MP3 players.

On another note, Brad, did you mention that you want the audio of your piece to live outside of your tent?
