The next World of Warcraft Expansion (?)

I'm a big fan of the Warcraft mythos, and with World of Warcraft being the current vehicle that Blizzard is using to deliver the storyline, I'm always curious at the newest content or expansions. I had always thought the next big expansion would be Northrend and Arthas, but after talking to some Blizzard peoples, they mentioned something that had been on the rumor mill for ages now.

Apparently the buzz is that the "Emerald Dream", a what-if version of Azeroth that is unspoiled by sentient humanoid creatures. This also happens to be where the druids go when they hibernate, and is the domain of the green dragon Ysera. There seems to be a nightmare creeping through the emerald dream, and it seems that this is what the players would be fighting against.

In the future, it also seems that the Maelstrom, home to the Naga, and also the Dragon Isles are being worked on at the moment. Exciting stuff indeed. The Emerald Dream was always an area on the backburner at Blizzard, but it seems that they may finally be rolling it out soon. There's a video linked underneath that's a few months old of the early early early early Emerald Dream zones that are being worked on.

On the topic of stuff being announced by Blizzard, I do hope they make this official at Blizzcon, but also the new "unannounced game", which probably is Diablo III, which has been worked on for a few years now. Probably not surprising, but it'll cause a stir anyways.
