prototype 01 - basic mechanic

Proto_01_Diagram_both.jpg

Here's a diagram illustratiing a basic mechanic that I'm planning to build as my first real protoype for my thesis. The red, orange, and green dots represent the 3 players hands as they pass the blue balls around. The blue balls are always attracted by gravity from the center to the perimeter.

Some inspiration from New Games:

Chute Ball

You have discussed cooperative play in the past and I'm interested/curious as to how your game will be the catalyst. On that note, does the merged yellow and green represent two players holding hands and/or simultaneously passing the ball? If so, how will you encourage this action?

Yes, the merged yellow and green represents two players holding hands. The goal of this basic mechanic is to pass as many blue balls as possible, and as fast as possible. As the number of balls being passed increases, they will probably accelerate in speed to become more of a centrifuge of blue particles. Players must clasp hands and coordinate the particles to keep them all in play.

Perry had a great idea of having the particles spawn from the center.
