Lucas donates $175 million, School renamed to "The School of Cinematic Arts"
Lucasfilm Foundation, will provide $75 million for the construction of new educational buildings and renovations of existing structures at the school. In addition, his foundation has agreed to provide a $100-million endowment for the school...
“Multimedia has become an important 21st-century vernacular that must be understood and embraced,” Lucas said. “In the media landscape of today’s world, multimedia as a primary means of communication is simply a reality.”

In their haste to leak this ahead of time, the Times article got many of the facts wrong. An official and more accurate press release should be out today from CNTV, er, SCA... but nevertheless,pretty great news, eh? That is a *lot* of space.

Yes, the new name does better suit the Interactive Media and Animation Divisions. Besides, there isn't even a Division of Television anyway...
