IMD RECEPTION FOR STEREO-PANORAMA TRIPTYCH THIS THURSDAY 6:00-8:00pm

bnhx3web.jpg

The IMD is hosting a reception for friends and colleagues to see a prototype version of Be Now Here Triptych, a new interactive stereo-panoramic installation by Michael Naimark. Three screens configured as a 180 degree half-hexagon display synchronized two-minute loops of footage from the original Be Now Here installation, filmed in 1995 on location in Jerusalem, Dubrovnik, Timbuktu, and Angkor. For this installation, the original 35mm stereoscopic footage was retransferred to high-definition digital video, which at the time was cost prohibitive.

Be Now Here Triptych was commissioned by Ars Electronica as a preview installation for "80+1: A World Journey," a project for Linz09, European Capital of Culture, 2009.

Where: Helen Lindhurst Gallery, Watt Hall, USC Rosky School of Fine Arts
When: Thursday 28 February, 6:00-8:00pm

The installation comes down the following morning, so this will be your last chance to see this unique experiment before it’s shipped off to Linz.
