What I should have said
Yesterday at the IMD grad orientation, Scott asked us to introduce ourselves and talk briefly about what interests us and/or what we've been working on recently. I defaulted to talking about my senior thesis project, Voices -- a kind of interactive database / artificial intelligence hybrid project that I've been working on since late last summer. But what I really should have mentioned instead is the World of Warcraft machinima that I've been involved in... only because it's more recent. (Voices is ongoing, but I haven't been thinking about it much lately.)

My pal Sedrin's been making WoW machinima for a while now, mostly for contests and everything he's entered has placed. I've been his feedback board and puppeteer helper... he's also wheedled me into voice acting for a couple. Still, his stuff is totally amazing and I'm terribly proud of him. His third film was finished in time for BlizzCon and he placed first in the drama category, which bagged him a new Alienware laptop costing around $3k. Pretty sweet deal for doing something you would've probably done anyway. :P
At any rate, here's the filmography list if you want to check 'em out... all on streaming video sites. Whoo-hoo Google Video / YouTube.
- Redshift: Ty'zamar and Aislynn: The story follows two Forsaken characters as they investigate a vision of the future and deal with their differences along the way. Winner in the Xfire Movie Contest, receiving 4th place in drama. (2006)
- Frame of Mind: Gear can be epic. Friendship can be legendary. Featuring "The Cheyenne Line" by the Ataris. Won 1st place in the Ataris WoW music video machinima contest.
- Redshift: Interlude: (screencap) During the events of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, a high-elf foretells the invasion of his homeland. This film is a prequel to Redshift: Ty'zamar and Aislynn, as we get to see Aislynn's past and are introduced to Bridion Dawnrider. 1st place winner in the drama category of BlizzCon 2007's "Untold Stories of Azeroth" movie contest.
