Eye Health
Saw this article on kotaku... Gamer Glasses Coming, about a company that sells glasses designed for reducing eye strain from computer use.
I've no idea if the glasses are actually effective, but it got me reading about eye health and taking how much do you know quizzes at any rate... which ended up being kind of scary. (Apparently humans blink their eyes five times less often than compared to reading printed material.) The website All About Vision does actually recommend that people get glasses specifically for computer use because normal glasses are designed for a different range of vision.
No one says anything about contacts. At any rate, seems kind of smart. Plus apparently the company intends to produce these same glasses soon with special stems that are more comfortable to wear with headphones. Now that I could definitely get behind, since I find it extremely uncomfortable to wear glasses + headphones and I often put in my contacts just to avoid it. :P

I think this sounds like a good idea in general... my problem is that I already wear glasses. I'm not about to switch to contacts (I fear anything touching my eyes), and wearing glasses on top of glasses isn't exactly my cup of tea. Watching 3D movies is usually a chore because of this problem. So I guess I would need to get two pairs of glasses, one for computer use and one for other? I guess if the price is right...
And I totally agree on the glasses+headphones bit. It's a pain, literally!
