Sony and Microsoft, VG and Hollywood.....

I found this article particularly interesting -

IGN.com - Battle of the Next Generation Formats

Am I missing something, or is Hollywood being pushed around by the video game Industry, instead of the other way around?

Also, I found this article somewhat eye-opening in regards to Sony... I knew that they were big and monolithic, and I've felt they had a leg up on Microsoft for the next generation for quite some time. I was expecting Sony to push MS around by leveraging their television technology, but using Blu-Ray is another great way that I hadn't even seen.

Good article. I've been tracking the blu-ray development for a while and had a chance to sit on a content developer/producers' recommendations panel last year. It will be interesting to see who wins the codec wars that will eventually drive the fate of this format.
