Tomorrow, a post about Transperator (featuring the lost music track, Level 2). But today, I am too tired for uploading, so I thought I'd post this instead.
Negativism
Technically, as it has no self-professing followers, Negativism can not be considered a religion. It is by some reckonings, however, the most widely held belief system on the planet.
"The story of Negativism's conception can be found in Asheby's Book of Superlative Claims (currently unfinished at 60 pages; due for publication in 2015/2016).
Negativism is usually divided into tenets:
The first tenet is self-contained:
It is the belief/fact that our understanding of the universe is defined not by the ever-changing hypotheses that we believe to be True, but by those solid, immutable postulates that we prove to be False. Falsehoods are the foundation upon which we build our existence.
The second tenet derives partially from the first, but relies on a semantically improbably leap of faith:
Since Truth is defined as "Those Beliefs Which Accurately Reflect the State of the Universe in part or total"[citation needed], it does not pertain AT ALL to that which we consider "true". The only immutable Truths are those things which we consider to be "false". [Sometimes added at the end of this tenet is the phrase: This is Negativism.]
The third tenet relies on the first two, but cannot be completely derived from them:
Negativism is therefore the basis of the universe, and the universal religion, because it is the only belief system that no one does, and no one CAN, truly believe.
If one does believe in it, they must regard it as True, and therefore as unimportant to the truth. This is a contradiction which disproves Negativism; by proclaiming (or even discovering) it to be true, a person is actively disproving the Truth of Negativism.
Because no one CAN believe in Negativism, it is a common foundation for all human thought. It reflects that which cannot possibly be. It is therefore the Universal Truth. "
Seeing as it's Tuesday, I thought I'd get in your face with this, and present you with a scenario... staunch Negativists in the street, protesting Negativism. People trying to convince them that Negativism is wrong, to which they respond: "I know, it's terrible! That's why I'm out here every day... because I agree with you." The people of the world joining hands, united by the one thing that everyone irrefutably knows is Not The Answer.
Help me disprove Negativism, folks, before its too late.
