Strange things are afoot at Pure West Films...
As the sole member of Pure West Coastal, I'm excited to see where this goes. Juan, Victor, and Peter have spent the last two years pouring their hearts, souls and wallets into this feature length documentary. Yesterday they released the trailer, and today the press has caught wind: articles in Kotaku and Joystiq, an explosion of views on Youtube... and the possibility of a premiere at SXSW.
Without exaggeration I can say I've been working with these gentlemen for most of my life... thirteen years ago we were filming sketch comedies together in their basement. Much as it pains me to say it, I think they've finally surpassed our 1999 magnum opus.
I've seen a recent cut of the movie and it's amazing. I can guarantee they've done a great job of covering the rich, complex social phenomenon of MMOs.
If you're interested in this (and you should be!) you can check out their blog as well. If you have comments or questions on the trailer, you can post them there or, if you're shy, in the comments here.
