This, too, is homework. It's the raw beginnings of a thesis statement, in three parts. It's just a start, but I'd love feedback.
I am exploring the construction of deterministic narrative environments
because I believe in the possibility of a medium for personal interactive experiences with unified content,
in order to provide storytellers and audiences with a new means of creative expression.
That's what I'm doing.

i find it really interesting that your work always blurs the line between storyteller and audience.

I had to think about your comment for a moment to understand it... I never considered it that way, but I think it's true. I'd really like to redraw that line here, making audiences the keepers of unique Narrative experiences, i.e. perspectives and views, while content creators are tasked with creating interesting worlds that have "story potential", i.e. events that are worthy of being viewed. Thanks man!

This sounds interesting. What does a deterministic narrative environment look like exactly? Can you talk a little bit about what you mean by deterministic and how that aspect will manifest itself? With a traditional narrative doesn't each audience member have a unique narrative experience through perspective and viewpoint? Kind of like the idea that two people can participate in the exact same event but walk away with very different experiences. How will this expand upon that? Tobias Wolf wrote a good article to that affect about Vietnam:

Jamie, lately I am thinking that our theses are going to end up overlapping in very interesting ways, in that I think we may be both answering a similar question from very different angles. I love it.
