What comes after usability?

Kathy Sierra from Creating Passion Users Blog posted a nice article about userbility and Flow. She also linked my theis site, that's how I find the article :)

I especially like the diagrams she used in the article.

Yeah i also liked it.

Put the player inside the game world, is needed to create a fantasy game, and more that you pay attention on doing it, more players get a positive image of your game world.

Next, intuitiveness, is very important to any game, it influences on the gameplay, the more logical and comfortable the menus or controls get, better the gameplay get, and it influences on the fun that the player get.

Usability, a user-friendly interface is a window that have a good look-and-feel components, nice graphics for people understand whats happening, and sure, nice to play. Make the player get accostumed fast with the commands and GUI is very important.

Efficiency, the features that the game shows to have, should work very well no? the software improvement may help in this phase.

Next, learnability, the players wont take more than 1 or 2 hours to learn a simple concept. The lernability influences is the interface, if its simple to understand, player will know for what it will be used and will learn fast.

Correctness, a lot of tests should be done before the game get launched. Even though the most incredible companies have a high QA team, it will have some bugs(for example, i saw some errors in children of mana, as getting stucked in the wall but it rarely happened). Pay attention and catch bugs is a important phase.

Functionality, the game must present all features needed to the genre specified.

In my long citation, i given as example, the game development process and catching definitions looking at that hierarchy.

But sure, that hierarchy will work on any software development.

Also, your thesis is very logical and creative, and the game fl0w shows exactly the concept of your thesis. I like the term "dorment gamers" (laughs)

Good post jenova! your blog is getting very interesting
