GDC 08

Next week, I will attend Annual Game Developer Conference at San Fransisco again. For the last four years, I have been a loyal fan for the event. And every time I go, I feel totally inspired, excited and threatened. The only thing I want to do after GDC is to work on my game again harder :)

Thanks to Kellee Santiago's wonderful post, all our detailed schedule at the conference can be found here.

Jenova,

Hi, I'm someone who has found much meaning in your game, 'Cloud'. It moved me in ways I haven't been moved by games before. I can't really find a decent way to contact you directly, so I guess I'll do it over your blog. :-p

I've two questions to ask:

1) Is there any way to make, or has anyone made, new terrain for Cloud? Imagine flying over wild country, over a snowcap, or a rainforest, or a city. The tiny island environment of the game we're in right now, it simply feels too small, too well-tread.

2) If there's no possibility of 1) happening, does anyone know of any games similar to Cloud? I just want to have a 'fantasy flight'. I don't want to kill monsters, I don't want to check whether my flaps are down to prevent my F-16 from careening into the side of a building. I just want to daydream.

Can you help me here? Cloud is (almost) everything I've looked for in a game: these two questions are the only parts I've found wanting.

Thank you for your time.

~badme

P.S.: If you can answer my questions, please mail me at badme1(at)gmail(dot).com. And, again: thanks.

Hi Jenova... You blog is pretty cool. I have a website I would like for you to check out. Maybe even give some feedback on, called muzui.com. We try to be as innovative as possible. It is important that the user can interact with the games in some way. We decided to let the user be able to create their own free mobile games (also works online in Flash)... I would love to hear your take on it!:)
