It Lives

We had a good time tonight! After it's over we're going to have a fun collection of animations. After tonight I wanted to at least get some video up, so here are two I took with my phone. Go see the Kiosk tomorrow, it's your last chance!

Thesis Presentation

Abstract
This project is a high-concept interactive television show. The objective of this thesis is to really answer the question: Why interactivity? What value does interactive narrative contribute to an already enjoyable passive experience? This question will be explored in the development of a show called Oasis. Oasis is a rich character-driven story utilizing both scripted and live television. The three filmed segments use a foldback branching scheme and input from the audience helps shape the live portion, which is partially improvised, and decides which branch is shown next. The show will use two-way feedback using a handheld device, receiving input from the television and outputting to a source.

Wow, what a trip. I am glad I am finished presenting. Now for the real work. Thank you to everyone who offered valuable feedback, espcially those of you with different points of view!

Oasis in Full Release

oasis.jpg

After being a beta tester for over a year, I got an email this morning that Oasis is now in full release and available for download from Shockwave.com for only 19.95. Oasis was IGF's 2004 winner for Innovation in Game Design, and my favorite game from that year's GDC. Popular and addictive to casual gamers (like me) and hardcore, I would recommend checking it out!
