blue dots  Progress on Playful Attention Tracking

I've made some progress on personal online attention tracking towards playful ends.

1. I installed a Firefox Extension from Attention Trust on each of my web browsers: this takes all my web travels and puts them in a local .xml file.

2. Using J Wynia's rough guide, and Welling and Thompson's excellent PHP/MySQL book, I installed the Attention Toolkit: this allows me to send web surfing history from any Firefox browser to a MySQL database.

3. I'm now able to run a rough page publishing my web surfing root domains: Justin's web surfing popularity contest. And just for fun, I hacked the script to make the links clickable.

My next steps are to explore translating the results on that page/in the database into content. Down the road, discreet user logins. More details on this vision: bud.com.

Hey Justin;

Good to see you making some use out of the attention tools (I gather it was you who stopped by the wiki today).

Please let me know how it goes or if you have any problems....
