I've found Pixen, a freeware Mac graphics program specifically designed for pixel graphics. If you feel like making some good old retro art this maybe the ticket.

Pixen is a great lil' app. I wish they had included some oldschool superpaint-style fill patterns though.
On another note, it has a cludgy windows-style interface, but the Lego Digital Designer application is a pretty amazing idea and a lot of fun to play with. It's basically the same idea that Douglas Coupland pushed around in Microserfs, a Cad-style program with a very simple interface where you build stuff with sets of lego bricks. You can then export an image file (including translucent .png) or upload the construction to Lego and they'll sell you the bricks you used to make it and instructions based on your building session. http://www.lego.com/eng/create/digitaldesigner/
Great page btw.. Makes me really wish I was a student in this program!

Thanks for your commments.
I've downloaded Lego DIGITAL DESIGNER, but I have yet to play with it. Can't wait to relive my Lego building days.
