Anki
The world that I'm creating is called "AnKi." The word AnKi comes from the combination of the Sumerian sky god, An, and the summerian earth goddess, "Ki."
In AnKi, there are three civilizations: the Salz, the Forest Children, and the Areonauts. Each civilizations is born from three different good in the Anki creation story. The Salz are a coastal/marine civilization born from Salzar. The Forest Children are a tribal rainforest culture born from the goddess Anya. The Aeronauts are technologically advanced civilization born from god Sha.
Lexora... A shining gem in the world of Anki. Surrounded by a vast ocean, Lexora is an isolated island continent about the size of Australia. The people who live there know little of what exists beyond the ocean boundaries. The rich topography of Lexora, give its inhabitants a range of environments that they can call home. There are deserts, beaches, mountains, snowy peaks, valleys, lake, rivers, and rain forests.
Below is a map of Lexora and a legend that outlines its geographic properties.
The aerial cities are the floating metropolises of the Aeronaut civilization. They are built on a large foundation of pyramide, a levitating mineral. As a pyramide cluster emerges from the ground, half the cluster is demolished and carved, until the top of the cluster is flat. Because the floating city must also act as a terminal for aircraft, the top of the city must act as flat runway. For that reason only low-rise buildings are constructed on the top surface. Space is carved from the lower half of the cluster and converted into buildings.
