Branded

Scott, the article about corporations targeting 6-year-olds that I referred to in our meeting was an excerpt from the book Branded by Alissa Quart.

I found it in a free magazine that is noteworthy for its cultural commentary and underground arts sensibility: Arthur

I have an immense attachment to physical printed media. Perhaps it is merely nostalgia or perhaps it is the haptic dynamism of paper but I doubt that digital publishing will replace physical publishing for me until I can turn pages and fold it in half to carry it under my arm.

Another book on this topic is "Can't Buy My Love - How Advertising Changes the Way We Think and Feel" by Jean Kilbourne. She's a doc film maker who made a doc about it: Killing Us Softly.
