The Jacket (2005)
Despite a freaky start and a very depressing first half, the movie has a happy ending and an excellent performance by Adrien Brody but there are a lot of gaps in the plot. On the other hand, the plot is so far fetched, closing those gaps would seem unthinkable... I dug the 70's style special effects too but I was annoyed by all the female characters in the movie and creeped out by all the male characters.
I need to stop watching movies past my bedtime. No wonder I can't sleep all night. I need to start renting some snoozy movies. Any suggestions folks? I am addicted to my flat panel and dvd player.

I recently saw "Garden State" on DVD and really enjoyed it. Not a "snoozer" per se, but very well done and not freaky.

We already saw Garden State...It was interesting although I am not a big fan of Natalie Portman in the past few years.
Tonight we opted for The Man Who Knew Too Little with Bill Murray and it was very funny if you are in the right mood.
I have cleared the isles at Blockbuster and now I am moving backwards in time to educate my boyfriend with movies like Chinatown, etc...Vidiots is near me but we have trouble sticking to the two night rental. I think NetFlix is the next step for me. Marcus and I are the kind of people who will watch anything, true cinema fans and we'll admit to renting crap on a regular basis as well as every weird movie we can find. (You find me a man who will watch 'Nijinsky' - I did.)
I am spoiled from Facets in Chicago because it was like NetFlix but with all the all the good flix!
Where do you folks rent in this town?

Cinefile on Santa Monica and Sawtelle is hands down the best video rental in this town. Amazing and obscure selections, films from all over the world, rarities, and an uber-dork staff seal the deal for me. Plus they have weekly rentals, a monthly plan, and I used to DJ there...
