Good ideas

Some good stuff came out of the symposium tonight, stuff I need to get down on paper right away.

Hampster wheels and clowns driving them with the anti-clown ray.

Gameplay glitch in the building of towers and the knocking them down feature. Too easy to knock down and too hard to build up. Solved by a giant wall that can only be circumvented by building a tall tower or by making other objects too heavy to knock down but light enough to build up with anticlownray.

People want to see more, which is good, but I need to produce it. Plus polish.

Get rid of the guns! ( I am trust me ).

Hmm, giant wall...not sure about that one. Make sure it fits with the circus theme, and isn't just thrown in for gameplay balance.

two words: feature creep.

I'm glad to see you are so enthused about your project, mike -- as well you should be.

However, it seems like you have a tendency to try and incorporate every idea suggested.

this isn't necessarily a bad thing, and maybe a weakness of mine is a innate fear of letting new ideas take over the initial project goals, as sometimes new ideas that come from development / testing are the best ideas.

don't make to much of this, just a growing reaction.

nice work on this, by the way -- I'll look forward to playing, then modding your game so you just shoot all the clowns.

Yay Hamster wheels :)

Last night when you mentioned that the clowns could stack up on themselves, it made me think of this scene in this movie. They aren't clowns, they're acrobats, but they form these human tower thingies, using their weight and a seesaw, and it would be pretty cool to try to do in a game. They also like jump off and do tricks (it's a pretty old movie so it's kinda cheesy but still cool). If you want to see it, I can bring the video to ZML sometime when you'll be around and show it to you. It could at least give you some ideas about how to 'connect' the clowns.

Cool, bring the video sometime.

Will - you're right, gotta get the basics of my first design done...ummm...first.

Mike - yeah, the wall is too much a gameplay thing and doesn't really fit. I've got plenty of other ideas though.
