Summer Projects!

Wow, one year of grad school completed! Congrats to everyone who successfully weathered this storm! So now that summer's here, I just thought I'd post a little on what I hope to accomplish this summer!

Romantic-Comedy Screenplay

This is something that's been brewing in my mind for years, and as of late I've felt inspired to pick it up again. No, I don't plan on it being interactive--I am actually looking forward to a hiatus from worrying about interactivity and instead focusing on character development and emotion--qualities which I'd eventually like to throw back into an interactive work. It'll be loosely based on my own dating experiences, though ultimately fictional. I hope to eventually produce this as a short film, in which I can also play the lead role (because it was, after all, my acting experience that launched me into filmmaking in the first place...)

More Story & Character Development: Tobias and Telmahre!

Most of the first years are at least somewhat familiar with this story, as I've worked on it in both writing classes this school year. I am fascinated with the narrative potential of this story, and will likely work more on fleshing it out this summer.

Game Engines Research

This is less of a priority than the first two, but I would like to iron out some of the technical details of using a 3D game engine. Basically, I want to be able to quickly and easily throw 3D content into an engine and navigate through it. By the time I start my thesis, I want to focus on story and gameplay, so I think I need to spend the next year figuring out the technical issues.
