i saw a headline today: "oil profits soar..."
way to capitalize on a national tragedy, guys - how utterly patriotic of you.
the segment of the population that is benefitting from the gwb administration keeps getting slimmer and slimmer. why beat around the bush anymore - let's roll back the upper class tax breaks and just cut taxes for petroleum executives. while we're at it, let's dig up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge - the Gulf of Mexico is just too dangerous these days. and extra taxes for those chicken little global warming scientists, too - why distract the nation and play politics at a time of national crisis?

he-haw, somebody is getting rich...and more powerful. I heard this story on NPR the other day where this economist stated that oil would have to hit $100.00 a barrell before we see national rate of $3.00 a gallon; apparently there a senate panel looking into oil price gauging in relation to Katrina.
