How to block Internet Ad's via a hosts file

I use my hosts file to block some of the most popular ad, spyware, and malicious internet sites. This has the effect of removing almost all advertisements from web sites, thereby speeding up page loads. It also removes a lot of those pesky pop-ups. Here's a link to the site explaining the technique and the hosts file needed to copy onto your computer. Hope this helps everyone!!!

Also, I've found that the combination of the Adblock Plus and Flashblocker extensions for Firefox do exactly everything I want and not more or less. Flashblocker can get a little annoying, but after you get used to it it's really nice not having to deal with random annoying music on every single web page.
