YouTube Campaigning
I heard this piece on NPR tonight about capaign ads on YouTube:
"YouTube Emerges as Political Tool in Campaigns"
The piece posits that YouTube gives local candidates a national audience, and that "web-only ads aren't yet regulated by federal election laws," so they can basically say whatever they want - the piece points out some examples of amazing hyperbole on both sides of the arena.
Are people actually searching for election information on YouTube? Would you trust a political video posted there anyway? Is it realistic to think that election laws can ever catch up with the Internet?
