Are we over stimulated with current media?

So to continue a discussion on the influence of media upon us.
There are various studies inrespect to the influence of Television but does anyone know of studies that have been done on current computer use, video game use, and various communication technologies (AIM, mobile, ICQ, FaceBook, Myspace, etc.)

Also I have recently heard that those with addictive personalities (those who have the "alcoholic gene") tend to also have ADD. Does anyone know anything about this research? Dr. Drew was commenting on it the other evening on Love Line.
With the current media, does it allow those with ADD to be more productive due to the multiple forums of stimuli?

Interesting questions here.

It is also interesting to take a look at these personalities and those heavily influence by current techology and take them outside camping. Are they so understimulated in this environment that they need these new techologies in their lives now? An addiction?

The best movie ever!!!

So I think the best movie ever would have the following cast:

William Shatner
Adam West
Charlton Heston
Christopher Walken

It would be even better if it was a reality TV show! Think about all of them living together in a house!

Anyone want to make a flash movie with me?

Thoughts on our education

I've noticed something about the learning style of our group. Generally when we are lectured we get bored (note that when I say this I do not refer to any class specifically nor was there any specific incident but I just noticed a triend in the learning style of most of the 1st years - if not all of us). We like to interact and really engage or attack (depending on how you look at it) the subject or work at hand.
I think this is due to the way in which we have learned the medium which we are now attempting to practice. I would guess that everyone of us has been fairly self taught when it has come to the various forms of media which we are familiar with (including various programs which some are profiecient in).
This being said I believe it is an interesting change in pedagogy (ha ha I used pedagogy I think that gives me like 50 points of Critical Studies points) when we face these various classes in which we crave for interaction, engagement, and less lecture. I feel an urge to have greater control of our learning path but at the same time we must becareful in our journey lest we foolishly lead ourselves astray... Then again sometimes it is best to allow the child to make the mistake otherwise he will never learn.

Just an interesting thing to ponder when forming the rest of my education here at USC in the program.
