Ms. Ruiz Goes to Washington

SusiCapitol_Small.jpg

I was invited last week to meet and talk about Darfur and my project with Congressmen at Capitol Hill. It was an incredibly invaluable experience. You can see me delivering my remarks here. One write-up of the event turned up in my own local Long Beach paper of all places! [I feel compelled to note that it contains a typo in the fourth paragraph: it should read "Honored Wednesday by members of Congress..."]

As an end note, for further information please visit www.darfurthesis.net - although the website is in-progress, it does help provide important context.

Amazing. Those two guys in the video look like the secret service, which make this all the more awesome.

Nice work Susana - have you considered politics as a career track?

I'll quote Mark Bolas's line here, "I want to see what you are doing 5 years later." :)

Awesome! I'm soo excited for you. Congrats, the world is waking up to the crisis in Darfur, and I do believe you, and your work, are helping that front.

Many blessings...

Susana!!!!! You're an inspiration to us all!

Bravo Susana! Can you post the transcript of your remarks as well? They're in the congressional record, we should have them on our blog as well.
