flOw included "Into the Pixel" collection
An image from flOw was one of the 16 pieces of game art selected by a panel of jurors from hundreds of submissions around the world for the 2008 Into the Pixel exhibit. The collection was announced on Tuesday at an event hosted by Siren Studios.
This year, I had the opportunity to participate on the jury and it was a great experience. I loved the conversations the jury had around each piece as we went through the judging process. A number of the jurors come from a fine art background and represent institutions such as The Getty and LACMA - listening to their thoughts on game imagery was a very enlightening experience.
Because of my connection to the flOw team, I wasn't allowed to vote on that piece, but I was very happy to see it selected. Some of my other personal favorites included "Puzzle World Twilight" by Jay Epperson, "Canyon Dwelling" by Tyler West, and "Four Knights" by Richard Anderson, but they are all amazing pieces.
