GDC Scholarship Application Deadline is Feb 3

I hope that a number of you have applied for this scholarship already, but just in case, here is a reminder:

The application deadline for the IGDA's 6th annual Student Scholarship Program is Friday, February 3rd. Twenty-five college students will be awarded complimentary full access passes to the 2006 Game Developers
Conference. Students can now apply online.

Scholarship recipients will be paired with professional developers to serve as mentors during the conference. Additionally, scholars will go on an exclusive site visit to EA's Redwood Shores studio campus.

Applicants are required to be full-time college students (or equivalent) and IGDA student members for consideration. Scholarship applications will be judged by a panel of professional game developers. Recipients will be
announced mid February.

Cloud wins at Slamdance!

Prizes in hand

Cloud got a great response at the festival and brought home the "Best Student Philosophy Award," which is basically the game design and aethetics award. Congrats to everyone on the team!!!

There was also a "Best Student Physics" award for programming that went to the Digipen game Rumblebox. Vincent played this game so much that he won their homemade award for highscore. "Facade" took the jury award, and well deserved! "N" took home the audience award - we got to know the developers Mare and Raigan while we were there and were really happy for them.

Here is a shot of all the indie game developers who were finalists at the festival.
