This brings to mind thoughts of identity.

As a performing artist, I find these celebrity impersonator's and other look alike's to be truly depressing. Glorification of someone who just so happens to have a look similar to a mega-star is such a downer for me. Have they no personality of their own? Do they not possess their own unique set of performance skills that set them apart from the rest? What happens to ones identity when they allow themselves to be the doppleganger of an already massive cultural pop icon? I myself would go nuts at not having my own personal voice in the world, regardless of fame and fortune. It would be suffocating, to say the least. I would love to ask this "Stacey Allemeier" if she feels she has a voice of her own, and if she could ever find a way to have her own identity. Even the tag line on the front page makes me want to laugh out loud and puke all at the same time... "America's Number One Britney Spears Lookalike & Impersonator"

America's number one Britney or America's number one impersonator? The line blurs uncontrollably, as does my vision as I fall to the floor. Just look at the URL...that's about as bad as it gets! http://staceyasbritney.com EEEEKKKKK.....

see, I love this.

I don't think she has an identity problem at all. I think she's making money doing this. If you want to relate it back to performing and acting, she's just playing a role and getting paid for it, just like acting, except she doesn't have to work as hard. And the URL: why does that upset you so much? It's no different than Arnold as the Terminator (or the Governator).

Yes, getting paid to be a copy. If she's cool with that, great. I am just saying that I personally couldn't do it because I would feel like I had no personal voice in the world and no identity of my own to tote around and flaunt. I would really like to know what happens in a situation where a Britney fan comes up to her and says, "Oh my god, Brittany Spears?!?!?! I love you, can I have your autograph?!" And then seeing the reaction melt as she explains she's an imposter. That can't have a good lasting impression on her own psyche...I know it wouldn't make my day, that's for sure.
