1. the lists grow so quickly and hugely that the data ceases mean much.
2. it just becomes some weird inbred thing where everything points to the same things and no one ends up producing anything new or worthwhile.
i know both of these are sweeping generalizations, so take them with a grain of salt. i dont want to get caught up in posting stories on here for the other kids - we either read all the same sites anyway or we should be. so its a semi-waste of time. there are exceptions of course, as with everything.
i got to speak to marc last week in nyc for my thesis. how's garage cinema working for you? would love to hear your experiences and thoughts.
I agree that reblogging can turn into a circle jerk. I should point out, though, that my del.icio.us links are my bookmarks--I don't save links to my desktop because I use several different machines. So they are primarily a resource for *me*--if someone else fnds them useful, that's just gravy.
As for unmediated.org, I find it useful to be able to read just one site rather than the 40-50 it covers--I need more filters like that.
Send me an email and I'd be happy to tell you about my experiences and thoughts about Garage Cinema.
Why do you hate re-blogging?

1. the lists grow so quickly and hugely that the data ceases mean much.
2. it just becomes some weird inbred thing where everything points to the same things and no one ends up producing anything new or worthwhile.
