"We need more paint!"

Can anyone truly have enough paint?

The playing cards we wanted to make were BIG. Large enough that one person could only hold one card in their hands at any given time. Maybe two if they're particularly big and scary.

A bit of investigation by intrepid student Justin Hall brought us to Triple A Containers, a Cerritos, CA company that provided us with exactly what we needed: more than 52 slates of cardboard, biwall in design, nearly 3 feet by 5 feet in size! They really came through for us; thanks Triple A!

Of course, getting the cards is just the beginning! Before we can start work on the cards themselves, we had to do design; Yuechuan created some really striking imagery, conjuring up some great looks for suits and face cards for us to apply to the cardboard.

From that point on, it was the long train ride as the class went in and out of the IML, doing what they could, whether it be cutting up stencils, painting cards, acquiring more supplies, or just cleaning up our part of the room in an IML that had classes running throughout the day.

The construction went on up until midnight, when everyone breathed a sigh of relief... but our job wasn't done yet! A few brave souls went out in the dark USC campus and placed advertisements and playing cards all around campus. It would be hard for any student to walk to class in the morning without seeing at least a dozen of these portending cards.
