These game projects were created in the intermediate game design and development course, which introduces students to concepts in game design and development such as ideation, digital prototyping, interface design, usability testing, level design, quality assurance, team work, project planning and management. The main emphasis of the class is the conceptualization of innovative design goals and the execution of those goals in the form of a complete, polished intermediate game project.
The intermediate class is a studio environment and a large part of the class focuses on critique and problem-solving for individual team projects. Students are encouraged to treat the development of their projects professionally and to participate actively in all critique sessions, giving and receiving feedback of the highest quality. Students are encouraged to take risks in this course and to look beyond the examples of existing game genres to try new and different design ideas. At the same time, they are expected to complete an innovative small game, and so must take into account the time and resources available.

A Dark and Stormy Night

Play as an assassin sent to a Masquerade party to eliminate your target in this re-combinatorial puzzle game where every game is different. Find out which of the guests is your target and then dispatch them - but be careful, ask too many questions and the guests will become suspicious.

Aquanet
(Nathaniel Anderson and James Ware)
Coordinate left and right hands (or cooperate with a friend) to control an Aquanet between two players. Navigate an atmospheric underwater world to find the treasure at the bottom and carry it back to the surface!

The stars have fallen from the night sky. It's up to you to fish them out of the ocean and throw them back into the sky. Click on stars to connect them with your fishing line, drag stars into other stars to create star clusters, and mouse over the moon to launch all the stars in a group. When a star turns purple, it is about to die, which will so act fast!
In Dog Years

Guide the old blind dog Brandon and his best friend Bonkers as they go on adventure to find the the Fountain of Youth. Use your sonar ability to find the items needed to activate the fountain.
Queasy Steve

Play a seasick pirate who serves under a merciless captain. It is up to Steve to defend against a fleet of enemy pirate ships while trying not to give in to his seasickness.
