Intermediate Game Projects, Fall '07
These game projects were created in the intermediate game design and development course, which introduces students to concepts in game design and development such as ideation, digital prototyping, interface design, usability testing, level design, quality assurance, team work, project planning and management. The main emphasis of the class is the conceptualization of innovative design goals and the execution of those goals in the form of a complete, polished intermediate game project.
The intermediate class is a studio environment and a large part of the class focuses on critique and problem-solving for individual team projects. Students are encouraged to treat the development of their projects professionally and to participate actively in all critique sessions, giving and receiving feedback of the highest quality. Students are encouraged to take risks in this course and to look beyond the examples of existing game genres to try new and different design ideas. At the same time, they are expected to complete an innovative small game, and so must take into account the time and resources available.

The Clear

Embrace Scientology in this adventure / puzzle game as you fight to free humanity from the the Body Thetans that inhabit their souls. Learn the godly powers of Scientology such as telekenesis and the ability to speak to animals on your road to defeating Lord Xenu and reaching the enlightened state of mind known as 'The Clear'.

The music-puzzle game that grows on you. As the opening day for his gallery comes closer, an uninspired artist needs a masterpiece. Nurture his musical plants as they act as the muse to help paint a vivid symphony of inspiration.

In every life, a man meets the same woman. Capture her heart across space and time before she leaves forever. Though her mindset changes with the time period, she is one person with consistent feelings about the man flowing from one time to another. Change time periods and use the cultural moors of the time to shape her perspective. Select actions in each time period to develop a relationship with her. Each time period was researched, with factual information presented in-game and through the pause screen.

Squirrel And Dog Go To The Moon

It's a race to the moon! You play as a squirrel that knows the true
treasure the moon holds... mountains of nuts and bones! Work with your
faithful doggy companion to find rocket parts and assemble them so you
can claim your prize. But watch out -- a rival squirrel and dog duo are
working to get there first and keep the bounty to themselves. For two
players.
Street Game

Enter 35th Street, where your only objective is to survive. You are a ten year old inner city kid just trying to make it through the day. The key to your success is to jump on buildings, and hide in trash cans, houses and trees to avoid your almost inevitable fate. Will you make it through untainted?
