SECT (Share, Engage and Connect with Television) is the thesis project of Julie Dillon, an MFA graduate of '06. Designed to provide a community experience for avid fans, the SECT program provides a model for online discussion forum based around different television shows. Each incarnation of SECT is tailored to a different show: for her thesis exhibition, Dillon created a design for Veronica Mars SECT community. This space allows viewers to connect live while watching a show, and grow a community by providing tools for meeting other fans, sharing user-created media, viewing exclusive content and other features.

SECT aims to further enhance the enjoyment of a show by creating a mutual dialogue between creators and fans, and provide show-specific tools for users. By creating a virtual, interactive experience for viewers, SECT aims to capture and reinvigorate the social dynamics of watching television.
