"Journey of Jin" is a transmedial play experience centered on mobile media, location-based entertainment, a comic book, and other web-based media. As the thesis project of IMD MFA graduate Stephen Erin Dinehart, this simple transmedia system is intended to invite users into a virtual world with multiple points of entry. Journey of Jin offers a grand adventure in bite size consumables.
In "Journey of Jin", you join Jin, a tribal warrior, on his quest through the planet UD to find a cure for the plague that is overcoming his people, the Menwabe. The IP maintains a consistent quality across multiple forms of media thanks to Adobe’s Flash Platform.
The mobile game portion for "Journey of Jin" is a custom built FlashLite 2.0 (AS2) engine intended for Nokia Symbian Series 60 smart phones. Using only a 5-way Directional-Pad the game is based on a 2d10 Role Playing system and is designed to be distributed in monthly episodic releases.
